Cambridge AS level English General Paper

Our Cambridge AS level English General Paper course is set at AS level only.

This course enables students to develop an understanding and use of English in a range of contexts. Students will learn to incorporate key details into their writing, as well as honing their skills in interpretation, analysis, reasoning, evaluation and persuasion.

Syllabus and exams

This course prepares students for the Cambridge AS level syllabus 8021.

Exams take place in March (India & Romania only), June and November.

Course advice

In order to study this AS level English General Paper course, we would recommend that students have achieved at least the following grades at IGCSE (or equivalent level):

  • First Language English (C or 4) or Second Language (B or 6) and Maths (C or 4).
  • The recommended IELTS equivalent is IELTS 6.0/6.5.

Our AS course will take approximately 250 hours of study. Our full A level course will take appropriately 500 hours of study. Both AS and A level courses will require extra time for preparation of the assignments and revision at the end of the course.
