The Cambridge A level Psychology course covers human behaviour and mental processes and is shaped by four key approaches in Psychology: cognitive psychology, social psychology, learning psychology and biological psychology.

Topics covered include child development, sleep and dreaming, memory and learning in humans and animals.

Syllabus and exams

This course will prepare students for the Cambridge A level Psychology syllabus 9990.

Exams take place in March (India & Romania only), June and November.

Course advice

In order to take this Cambridge A level Psychology course we would recommend that students have achieved at least the following grades at IGCSE (or equivalent level):

  • First Language English (C or 4) or Second Language (A or 7), Maths (C or 4).
  • The recommended IELTS equivalent is IELTS 6.0/6.5.

Our AS course will take approximately 250 hours of study. Our full A level course will take appropriately 500 hours of study. Both AS and A level courses will require extra time for preparation of the assignments and revision at the end of the course.
