Cambridge A level Geography

Our Cambridge A level Geography course is a combination of physical and social sciences as well as data skills and real-world applications.

It will draw on students' logical and analytical skills, and will encourage them to understand contemporary issues and the complexity of environmental systems. They will gain an understanding of the impacts of human activity on environments and how these impacts can be managed sustainably.

Syllabus and exams

This course will prepare students for the Cambridge A level Geography syllabus 9696.

Exams take place in March (India & Romania only), June and November.

Course advice

In order to take this Cambridge A level Geography course we would recommend that students have achieved at least the following grades at IGCSE (or equivalent level):

  • Geography (B or 6) or Environmental Management (B or 6), First Language English (C or 4) or Second Language (A or 7), Maths (C or 4).
  • The recommended IELTS equivalent is IELTS 7.0/7.5.

Our AS course will take approximately 250 hours of study. Our full A level course will take appropriately 500 hours of study. Both AS and A level courses will require extra time for preparation of the assignments and revision at the end of the course.
