Cambridge A level Further Maths

Our Cambridge A level Further Maths course will develop skills which will enable students to study a range of STEM subjects at a higher level.

This course strengthens transferrable skills including logical thinking, analysis and modelling, and is a sound choice for students pursuing further education in fields such as Medicine, Engineering or Computer Science.

How our courses work

Syllabus and exams

This course will prepare students for the Cambridge A level Further Maths syllabus 9231.

Please note, if students take Mechanics at AS level, they must take Statistics at A level, and vice versa.

Exams take place in June and November.

Course advice

In order to take this Cambridge A level Further Maths course we would recommend that

  • Students have achieved at least the following grades at IGCSE (or equivalent level): IGCSE First Language English (C or 4) or IGCSE Second Language (B or 6).
  • Students have A Level Maths (A) or have completed the majority of the level course and be predicted an A grade.
  • The recommended IELTS equivalent is IELTS 6.0/6.5.

Our AS course will take approximately 250 hours of study. Our full A level course will take appropriately 500 hours of study. Both AS and A level courses will require extra time for preparation of the assignments and revision at the end of the course.
