Syllabus and exams
The course prepares students for the Cambridge A level Computer Science syllabus 9618. The full A level qualification comprises exams at AS and at A level, which may be taken together or separately.
Please note that the A Level Paper 4 is a practical paper.
Exams take place in June and November.

Course advice
For students to student Cambridge A level Computer Science, we strongly recommend that:
- Students have studied Computer Science at IGCSE/GCSE Level and achieved a Grade C or 5.
- If students have not studied Computer Science at IGCSE, it is desirable that they have previous experience of programming.
- They also need First Language English (C or 4) and Maths (B or 6).
- The recommended IELTS equivalent is IELTS 6.0/6.5.
Our AS course will take approximately 250 hours of study. Our full A level course will take appropriately 500 hours of study. Both AS and A level courses will require extra time for preparation of the assignments and revision at the end of the course.
