About us

1894

Wolsey Hall was founded as a correspondence college by Joseph William Knipe.

1930

Supplied degree level courses via the University of London external degree programme.

1942

Appointed by the War Office to provide courses for the British Armed Forces.

1945

Sir Harold Evans editor of The Sunday Times studied Economics with Wolsey Hall whilst an RAF airman.

1951

SR Nathan, President of Singapore studied with Wolsey Hall achieving a Grade II certificate.

1967

Nelson Mandela studied through Wolsey Hall for his London University Law degree, whilst in Robben Island jail.

1985

Wolsey Hall launches world’s first distance learning MBA with Warwick Business School.

1990

Launch of innovative blended learning management development courses to a variety of organisations including BA, Lloyds TSB, BP and Shell.

2010

Wolsey Hall launches online IGCSE courses.

2012

Wolsey Hall launches online A Level courses.

2013

Wolsey Hall launches online courses for Secondary students aged 11-13.

2016

Wolsey Hall launches online Primary courses for children aged 7-10.

Blended learning courses for schools

2016

Wolsey Hall begins to offer hybrid learning programmes to schools worldwide.

2018

Wolsey Hall becomes a registered Cambridge online school.
